Everyday, my morning bus comes and picks me up. Usually I sit by myself, afraid to talk to the ghetto people. Beacause, yeah. They freaking scare the heck out of me. But I happened to notice another white girl sitting by herself, so going way out of my comfort zone, I asked to sit next to her.
The first thing out of her mouth was: "Do you read Twilight?" I thought I was gonna pee. Just kidding.
But I said that I "friggin' loved that book," and a friendship was formed.
Oh, wow.
But we've been sitting together for the past four weeks, and I've found that she's [we'll call her Ella] ... hm, what's the word... she... is the depressed type.
Which, yeah. I understand, so I've been trying to talk to her and let her know that someone's there, and such.
But as it turns out, loving comments don't help if your mom might have cancer.
And... it really freaked me out. I mean, what are you supposed to say? I really wanted to talk about the Plan of Salvation, but... 1. Ella isn't religious, other than going to 'SWAT' and praying when she needs. And 2. It kind of sounds like I'm saying, "Hey, it's totally fine yo' mommah's finna die. You'll see her again if you really want to."
Does that make me a horrible person?
...and... to make this all worse... I've been asking for a way for me to build my testimony in prayer. And so my friend's mom has the possiblity of cancer, and Ella asked me to pray for her.
I feel... horrible to say the least.
But if anyone reads this, then please remember her in your prayers, also. Thank you. :]

we are asked to share the gospel, not decide if the person will except it.
You shouldn't feel sad that you have been praying for a way to build your testimony and then you met this person. The Lord is answering both of your prayers--- through each other. You don't have to say it's ok your momma's gonna die... but you could say that you have some things that might help her feel better.
You are a smart girl, and a girl with a strong testimony. You'll know what to do!
Love ya!
alyx, when are you gonn write some more? i love to read your stuff.
WELL....SHOOT. THAT WOULD BE A HARD SITUATION. I NEVER KNOW WHAT TO SAY WHEN PEOPLE ARE IN SITUATIONS LIKE THAT....
I THINK SHARING THE GOSPEL IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING, THOUGH ♥
AND
YOU COULD SAY SOMETHING LIKE--->
"DANG GIRL...THAT IS AWFUL AND SCARY!"
YOU KNOW... PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THINGS LIKE THAT LIKE TO KEEP IT REAL SOMETIMES AND DON'T WANT TO GET ALL MUSHY AND EMOTIONAL ALL THE TIME.
THEY ARE ALREADY SAD AND STRESSED OUT ABOUT IT. SOMETIMES I THINK JUST KEEPIN IT REAL IS A GOOD THING---AS LONG AS IT IS AT THE RIGHT MOMENT, YA KNOW.
